Francis Allard has been awarded a Research Grant for Foreign Scholars by the in Taiwan. During his two-month stay in Taiwan this coming summer, he will also be a visiting scholar at the Institute of History and Philology, Academic Sinica.
Allard was also recently an invited speaker for the Colloquium Series of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh. The title of his talk was “China and the Early Maritime Silk Road: Politics, Geography and the Nature of Interaction.”
