Janet Walker and senior secondary mathematics education major Chloe Wilson authored "Introducing Actuarial Science to High School Students," which appeared in the summer 2020 issue of Ohio Journal of School Mathematics.
"" serves as both an introduction to the field of actuarial science for high school students and as a lesson on exploring tables and graphs related to the types of problems that actuaries work on. Walker stated, "I always enjoy working with students because they are so excited to see their name in print. It also serves them well in their future as an educator."
Wilson is an undergraduate assistant and peer mentor/tutor in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences and social media chair for Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Wilson also volunteers at the Johnstown Women's Help Center Domestic Violence Shelter.
