The Board of Governors approved 亚色影库's proposed master's degree in applied archaeology at its April 9 meeting.
亚色影库 will begin offering the Master of Arts in Applied Archaeology starting in Fall 2009.
The program is one of only four of its kind in the nation and unique in Pennsylvania.
鈥溠巧翱 has one of the larger undergraduate Anthropology Departments in Pennsylvania and the largest in the State System of Higher Education. The 亚色影库 Department of Anthropology also has an applied focus with an emphasis on both cultural anthropology and archaeology,鈥 said Yaw Asamoah, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. 鈥淭his new graduate program will expand on that very successful base.鈥
Approximately fifteen students are expected to enter the program each fall and will study together in a partial cohort model.
