亚色影库 will take over Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. for 亚色影库 Plays Pittsburgh, 亚色影库's second annual event at Heinz Hall.

The program will showcase the talents of 亚色影库 faculty and students with performances by the 亚色影库 Symphony Orchestra and tuba-euphonium ensemble, 亚色影库 Percussion Ensemble, 亚色影库 Jazz Ensemble, the Gorell Trio and the 亚色影库 Marching Band. Ted Sohier from WQED will serve as master of ceremonies for the event.

A dessert reception, hosted by the 亚色影库 President Tony Atwater and Dr. Beverly Roberts-Atwater, will be held in the lobby of Heinz Hall at 7 p.m.

Sponsoring the event is Massaro Corp. of Pittsburgh, general contractor for 亚色影库's Residential Revival student housing project.

Tickets are available in advance from the Heinz Hall box office, (412) 392-4900, and will be sold at the door the night of the concert. Tickets are $15 and include the dessert reception before the concert.

A number of seats on a bus traveling to the concert are available for community members and students. Those interested in reserving a seat should e-mail Matthew Baumer at mbaumer@iup.edu. The bus will leave from Cogswell Hall at 5:30 p.m. and return shortly after the concert, leaving Pittsburgh between 10:15 and 10:30 p.m.

The Symphony Band, under the direction of Dr. David Martynuik, will open the concert with 鈥淕rand Canyon Suite.鈥 The tuba-euphonium ensemble, under the direction of Zach Collins, will continue the program with 鈥淪pider Man II,鈥 鈥淧reghiera鈥 and 鈥淭ubamobile.鈥

The Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Michael Kingan, will perform 鈥淩ite of Passage鈥 with Chris Lyon as marimba soloist, 鈥淢arimba Quartet鈥 and 鈥淒on't You Worry 'Bout a Thing.鈥

Following intermission, the Jazz Ensemble will continue the program with 鈥淏ack Home Again in Indiana,鈥 鈥淪atin Doll,鈥 鈥淔rom This Moment On鈥 with soloist Laura Ferguson and 鈥淏etter Git Hit in Your Soul.鈥

The Gorell Trio will perform 鈥淒e Profundis,鈥 鈥淏eautiful Dreamer鈥 and 鈥淚f You've Only Got a Moustache鈥 with soloist baritone Robert Peavler.

The Marching Band concludes the concert with 鈥淏eatles Revisited,鈥 鈥淐rimson Xpress,鈥 鈥淗ail Indiana,鈥 鈥淔rom Russia with Love鈥 and 鈥淎mazing Grace.鈥 The Marching Band is directed by Martynuik.
