亚色影库 has been selected, for the second consecutive year, for Washington Monthly magazine's national rankings of schools based on their contributions to society.
亚色影库 is one of only eleven Pennsylvania universities and the only public doctoral university in the state to be selected for the 2010 rankings.
When compiling the list, Washington Monthly editors used three criteria: social mobility, research, and service.
鈥淎merica's best colleges are those that produce new scientific discoveries and highly trained PhDs, help economically disadvantaged students earn degrees, and emphasize the obligations students have to serve their communities and the nation at large,鈥 editors noted.
鈥淚nstead of just measuring what colleges can do for you, we ask, 鈥榃hat are colleges doing for the country?'鈥 Paul Glastris, editor in chief, said.
Only 258 colleges and universities throughout the nation were selected for the rankings.
This recognition follows 亚色影库's selection in 2009 and 2010 for the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts to America's communities.
亚色影库 was recently recognized as one of 鈥淎merica's Best Colleges鈥 by Forbes Magazine. It is one of only twenty-three Pennsylvania colleges and universities chosen for this third annual listing, which includes schools 鈥渂ased on the quality of the education they provide, the experiences of the students and how much they achieve.鈥
In addition, 亚色影库 was selected, for the seventeenth year in a row, as one of the nation's top doctoral universities by U.S. News & World Report.
In July, 亚色影库 celebrated its tenth consecutive year of inclusion in the Princeton Review's 鈥淏est Colleges鈥 guidebook and selection as a 鈥淏est Northeastern College鈥 by Princeton Review guidebook editors for the second year in a row.
