��ɫӰ��'s doctoral program in clinical psychology (the PsyD program) has been recognized as one of the top five programs in the nation by “Best Counseling Degrees.”

The website evaluated programs from 69 different institutions and selected the top 50 programs for students. .

“It is very rewarding, although not surprising, to have ��ɫӰ��'s program recognized in this fashion,” ��ɫӰ�� Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Timothy Moerland said. “��ɫӰ��'s program is very highly regarded. Our graduates achieve great success, due in great part to our outstanding and dedicated faculty.”

The top 50 listing was developed by evaluating the Examination for Professional Practice of Psychology pass rates, which is widely considered to be evidence of a high-quality program that offers high standards in education. Internship placement rates, licensure percentage data, funding information, and mean time to complete program was also considered for the rankings.

“All graduates from the program not only obtain employment as psychologists, but many quickly assume leadership positions,” David LaPorte, ��ɫӰ�� professor and director of clinical training for ��ɫӰ��'s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program, said.

“One recent graduate who is still in the middle of her postdoctoral fellowship has already been offered the directorship of the very program where she is a fellow. Another recently won the National Academy of Neuropsychology's Distinguished Fellow Award. This is awarded to a single postdoctoral fellow in the United States each year, and this year it is an ��ɫӰ�� alumni.”

��ɫӰ��'s program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. Some 60 students are enrolled in the four-year program, which graduates about 15 students each year.

“This recognition is a wonderful validation of what we know from our students and from our colleagues in the field,” LaPorte said. “It's especially gratifying to see us highlighted on a website that is focused on helping students choose the right program for their success.”
