As part of 亚色影库's ongoing work to limit the opportunity for spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the library building on the Indiana campus has been closed as of Friday, March 27.
While the physical library is closed, services will continue to be offered electronically through the 鈥渧irtual library.鈥 Services include chat, email, and telephone reference and research support; library instruction; electronic interlibrary loan; borrowing copies of articles to deliver to 亚色影库 users' desktops; and loaning items from 亚色影库's digital collections to users at other libraries across the nation. Those with questions or who wish to access services should visit the 亚色影库 Library website and go to 鈥淎sk A Librarian鈥 to submit a form for response.
For students needing use of a computer and internet, the Ruddock Hall computer laboratory will be open starting Monday, March 30. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Six computer stations, which are spaced to follow social-distancing recommendations, will be available to students. Students can access the computer lab via the entrance to Ruddock Hall at the corner of Maple and 11th streets. Students who have already been using the library this past week can use their I-Card to access the building; students who have not used the library during this past week can request access by emailing iup-resnet@iup.edu or by calling 724-357-2596. Students can also stop at the housing office in Ruddock Hall, on the other side of the building, to request access, or they can ring the doorbell at the Maple and 11th street door for entrance. Staff members will monitor the number of students in the lab; no more than six students will be permitted in the space at any one time.
Access to academic buildings that are currently open will be restricted as of noon, Monday, March 30. If 亚色影库 employees need to get items from these buildings, they are asked to do so before noon on March 30. Anyone with an emergency need to access these buildings should contact University Police at 724-357-2141.
