Colleagues,

I am saddened to share with you that longtime 亚色影库 trustee Gealy Wallwork died December 31, 2020.

Mr. Wallwork ended his 26 years of service as a trustee in 2018. He was a careful and thoughtful steward of the university and its resources, offering wise leadership, especially during work on capital projects. He also was proud that 12 of his children and grandchildren graduated from 亚色影库.

When authorizing the naming of Wallwork Hall in his honor in 2009, the 亚色影库 Council of Trustees recognized his commitment to the university during a time of growth that included completion of the Kovalchick Complex, the Residential Revival, successful fundraising campaigns, and many other initiatives. At various times as a trustee, he also chaired the Administration and Finance Committee and the Nomination Committee, was liaison to the Foundation for 亚色影库 Board of Directors, and served on the Academic Affairs and University Relations committees and the president's formal and informal review committees. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the 2006 President's Medal of Distinction, the highest non-degree award 亚色影库 presents.

Mr. Wallwork was the retired president and CEO of the Arthur T. Walker Estate Corporation. His career spanned 44 years in operation and management positions in the mining business, from the mine level through corporate headquarters. He received his bachelor's degree in mining engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Wallwork's service also included membership on Rotary International and on the Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional Planning Commission. An Eagle Scout, he served on the executive board of the Moraine Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Friends will be received Friday, January 8, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Saving Grace Church, 921 Hospital Road, Indiana. A private service will be held for family members, and interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Bowser-Minich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and has provided his obituary and an opportunity to send messages of condolence .

Mr. Wallwork will be sincerely missed. I know that you join me in wishing his family comfort and peace.
