亚色影库's Council of Trustees today presented a resolution of appreciation to James C. Miller for his 鈥渄evotion to the university, the 亚色影库 Council of Trustees, and the greater Indiana community.鈥
Miller's term as a member of the Council of Trustees concluded in January 2020. His seat was filled by Trustee Jennifer Baker.
Members of the Council of Trustees are volunteers appointed by the governor to be responsible for financial oversight of the university and for ensuring compliance of university policy with state law. The Council of Trustees meets quarterly, and other times as needed.
The resolution of appreciation recognized that 亚色影库 鈥渉as benefited immeasurably鈥 from Miller's service as 鈥渁n active member of the 亚色影库 Council of Trustees, a seasoned leader of university campaigns and initiatives, and a staunch supporter of the Indiana community.鈥
Miller began service on the Council of Trustees on July 1, 2005. He has served in a number of key roles, including as secretary and treasurer, chair of the University Advancement Committee, liaison to the Foundation for 亚色影库 Board of Directors, chair of the Audit and Nominating committees, and a member of the president's annual review committee.
Miller was also recognized in the resolution for contributing 鈥渁 wealth of knowledge and expertise during a time of growth at the university that included development of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex, the Residential Revival, and many other initiatives.鈥
The resolution also highlighted Miller's leadership in three capital campaigns, starting in the 1980s as a member of the campaign cabinet, continuing in the 1990s as campaign cochair, and as a campaign volunteer in the 2000s. Miller's service as president of the Foundation for 亚色影库 Board of Directors and his 2004 selected for the 亚色影库 President's Medal of Distinction, the highest nondegree award the university presents for contributions of special significance, was also noted.
鈥淢r. Miller has invested great effort in improving the Indiana community鈥攂oth by leading S&T Bank, one of the county's top employers, in significant growth before his 2008 retirement as chairman and CEO and by lending his services to a number of local causes over the years, including the hospital, United Way, and chamber of commerce, in addition to 亚色影库,鈥 the resolution stated.
