If you are homeschooled and considering an application to the Cook Honors College, you are in very good company.
We routinely admit excellent homeschooled students who have prepared for college outside a traditional school setting. Through parental teaching, cyberschooling, self-instruction, cooperative classes, or through local and community college classes, our homeschooled applicants are among the most prepared students we admit each year.
Because you will not have a high school transcript upon completion of your requirements for graduation, you will need to have a document detailing your curriculum for the equivalent of your ninth through twelfth grade of instruction. You may choose to submit your curriculum to a homeschool association to review and certify your credentials, but it is not required. At the very least, 亚色影库 will require a list of courses you have taken and a grade for each across your last four years of instruction.
Homeschool FAQ
Will my SAT/ACT score carry more weight since I am homeschooled?
A good score on the SAT is, by itself, not good a predictor of success in college. Our committee will consider your SAT/ACT and the quality of your written responses. Neither test is preferred.
Will I be required to live in the Honors College residence while matriculating at 亚色影库 as an entering freshman?
Yes. All first-year students are required to live in Wallwork Hall for one academic year.
