Stephanie Montavon ’08
Hospitality management students recently received an insightful presentation from Stephanie Montavon, senior catering sales manager at the TRYP by Wyndham Pittsburgh. Montavon, an 亚色影库 hospitality graduate from 2008, shared her extensive experience in the industry, from hotel operations to wedding planning and sales. She was invited to visit hospitality management students by Nicole Clevenger to share her expertise and experience.
Montavon emphasized the importance of networking and professional development. She strongly recommended joining organizations like Meeting Professionals International, highlighting its benefits for educational opportunities, industry connections, and staying updated on trends. She discussed how MPI allows her to stay ahead of upcoming events and conventions in Pittsburgh, letting her to adjust sales strategies and prepare for increased guest traffic.
Montavon’s career journey, which includes roles in hotel operations, running her own wedding planning business, and her current sales position, offered valuable insights into the diverse paths available within the hospitality industry. Her presentation provided students with a comprehensive overview of the catering sales profession and the importance of industry involvement.
