Thank you very much for your interest in donating materials to the 亚色影库 Libraries.
Making a Donation
Donations of books, journals, manuscripts, archives, photographs and other types of tangible materials are considered "gifts in kind." 亚色影库 Libraries welcomes such gifts, especially as a means of further developing the Libraries' collections.
All gifts accepted by 亚色影库 Libraries become the property of the University Libraries and, as such, the Libraries have the right to determine retention, location, circulation, and all other considerations relating to use or disposition.
All gifts must be processed through the University Libraries Acquisitions Unit. To arrange for a donation or to discuss whether your donation is appropriate to the 亚色影库 Libraries collections, please contact Chris Clouser, Collections Librarian, at 724-357-5697 or by email at cclouser@iup.edu.
Donation of Books
Important: Please contact Chris Clouser, Collection Development Librarian, at 724-357-5697 or cclouser@iup.edu prior to bringing items to the library or shipping materials to us.
Donors can make arrangements to deliver a gift in kind to the Stapleton Library's loading dock weekdays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Materials may also be shipped to the Libraries at the donor's expense. Library staff cannot assist in packing or transporting donated materials. On campus, the donor's department may contact Physical Facilities to arrange moving of large collections after consultation with the Libraries. Larger or scholarly gifts should be accompanied by a list of materials compiled by the donor. The Libraries cannot compile detailed lists of donated materials after the gift has been received.
A Libraries' Deed of Gift form will need to be completed for all donated materials. Please indicate whether a written acknowledgement is desired. A donor may request a note in the Libraries' online catalog or a bookplate acknowledging the donor.
The University Libraries may consider exceptions to the above policies on a case-by-case basis.
Donors of significant collections are urged to consider providing funding support for the preservation, housing, processing, and continuing use of the materials. Discussions regarding support of collections should be held with the dean or his designee. Such support can also provide funding for organization, cataloging, processing, preservation, and reformatting (such as digitization) of collections to facilitate access, use, and enhanced learning and research.

Tax Considerations
The 亚色影库 Libraries encourage donors to discuss prospective donations and appraisals with their attorneys or financial advisors for specific questions about charitable deductions for donated materials.
Appraisal of a gift to the University Libraries for tax purposes is the responsibility of the donor. To protect both its donors and itself, the University Libraries as an interested party may not appraise gifts that they receive. The University Libraries do not pay for appraisals.
Thank you for your support of the 亚色影库 Libraries!
