The Orendorff Music Library is one of the best-kept secret places for students to feel right at home.
Before entering the library, there will be a mask check to be sure that all entering are "masked up" during your stay. While it may be in Cogswell Hall, just across the way from the CrimsonCaf, it is a great place to hang out with friends, study, and get a sneak preview of the Marching Bandas they practice.

One might think that you have to be a music major to visit and borrow here, but that could not be further from the truth. The Music Library is open to all students, employees, alumni, and our local community members.
The music library features a large commons area for private and group study while providing campus Wi-Fi for your everyday and classroom needs. Multimedia pods feature computers with Finale (music editing) software, CD and cassette players and recorders, and turntables to listen to and dub your vinyl recordings or cassettes to CD. There you will also find a public copier, printer, and a seminar room for small group work, when needed.
The Music Library has an extensive collection containing a wide variety of music materials, with strong holdings in music monuments, collected editions, reference materials, and an outstanding collection of opera and musical theater scores available for use.
Best of all, there are approximately 10,000 reference volumes,12,000 circulating books,30,000 scores(printed music),10,000 LP sound recordings, and 5,000 compact discs.
There is a Charles Davis Collection of Jazz and Musical Theatre along with the Edward R. Sims Collection of Ethnic Musical Instruments, with instruments representing every continent.
A specialized collection includes the Jim Self collection of brass ensemble music and the of the marching band and drill team materials.
Who can utilize these services? Anyone with a valid I-Card or community library card.
The Music Library is open Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Remember, masks are required to enter all buildings on the university campus, and the libraries are no different. Occupancy is limited to 29 persons at a time.

Did you know? The music library was named in honor of Harold S. Orendorff, a former chairperson of the Music Department and the first dean of the College of Fine Arts at 亚色影库.
