All students interested in being a music major or minor are required to audition. Information about auditioning for the ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance can be found on our Music Auditions page.

All music majors are eligible for scholarships, which are determined based on your audition.

If you are accepted to ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â, you may declare a major in theatre without an audition. Auditions and portfolio reviews are required to be eligible for a Freshman Talent Scholarship.

Englestad Presents at 2025 SHE: Festival of Women in Music Conference

Rosemary Engelstad (clarinet professor, ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â) and Amanda Morrison (clarinet professor, Slippery Rock University) were selected to perform a recital at the SHE: Festival of Women in Music. At the festival, they performed a recital of music compositions for two clarinets by Theresa Martin (Appleton, WI), including Paradigm Shift, a work commissioned by Morrison (lead commissioner) and Engelstad in 2024.

Alumna Cramer Credits Theater Faculty Encouragement for Career Decisions

ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â theater and English education alumna Kaitlyn Cramer ’17 credits theater faculty encouragement for creative risk-taking that launched her into an international career. CanvasRebel, an online storytelling and interview platform, recently featured Cramer as one of the independent artists sharing stories and insights on their field.

Keystone Wind Ensemble Invited to Perform at Texas Bandmasters Association Conference

The Keystone Wind Ensemble received an invitation to perform at the 2025 Texas Bandmasters Association Conference, July 24–26 in San Antonio, Texas. It is anticipated that over 6,500 people will attend the conference, including 2,400 band directors and more than 600 industry-related exhibitors.
