ɫӰ’s Theater-by-the-Grove will present The 39 Steps, Abridged, a comedy-mystery adapted for the stage by Patrick Barlow. This abridged one-hour production will be presented at Waller Hall’s Mainstage February 28–March 2 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee performance on March 3 at 2:00 p.m.
The 39 Steps, Abridged is a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theater. This two-time Tony and Drama Desk award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, with dozens of zany characters racing across the British Isles.
With trains, planes, and automobiles, can our dashing hero solve the mystery of the 39 Steps—and still find time for a little romance?
The artistic team for this production includes Carrie J. Cole, director; Brian Jones, scenic and lighting designer; Nancy Pipkin-Hutchinson, costume designer; and Brenna Arbogast, serving as sound designer as part of her senior thesis.
When asked to share her thoughts on this production, director Cole shared, “Working with this ensemble on such a zany fast-paced show has been a dream. Every night, they have me laughing and engaged with the many characters they create. I can’t wait to share the fun with the audience.”
