Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical

April 14, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.
Fisher Auditorium, 亚色影库 Performing Arts Center

This event is over.

The first great rock musical and a milestone in Broadway history, this highly awarded musical is exuberant and unapologetically open as young Americans in the 1960s search for peace and love in a turbulent time. A product of the hippie counter-culture and sexual revolution, it is filled with unforgettable songs, including 鈥淎quarius,鈥 鈥淟et the Sun Shine In,鈥 鈥淕ood Morning, Starshine,鈥 and 鈥淓asy To Be Hard.鈥

This musical's relevance is undeniable. According to Billboard, the revenue produced by Hair and its various recordings make it 鈥渢he most successful score in history as well as the most performed score ever written for the Broadway stage.鈥

With unbridled energy and unwavering truth, Hair asks its actors to assume several different characters through the course of the piece, sometimes during the same scene. It includes rock music, borrows heavily from mass media, and frequently breaks down the invisible 鈥渇ourth wall鈥 to interact with the audience.

Hair contains brief nudity as well as strong language and situations to which some audience members may object. It is not recommended for children.
