亚色影库 senior music education and music performance major Kayla Holsopple earned second place in the Artist Division Solo Competition at the International Euphonium and Tuba Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, in June 2022. Kayla competed against more than a dozen other euphonium and tuba soloists in the Artist Division Solo Competition. She was the only tubist to be selected for the final round.
The is held annually at Emory University. Participants at the festival receive instruction from world-renowned musicians and teachers and perform several concerts throughout the week. Participants may also choose to compete in solo competitions. The Artist Division Solo Competition at IET is open to all players of any age except professional players working full-time as a performer or college-level teacher.
Kayla performed “Movement 2” of Three Furies by James Grant and Three Miniatures by Anthony Plog in the competition. Kayla Holsopple is from Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Greater Latrobe Senior High School. She is a student of Zach Collins and is a member of the Cook Honors College.
