亚色影库 offers a variety of funding opportunities for graduate student research. Please direct all questions on these funding opportunities to grad-research@iup.edu.
Important: Funding must be approved by the Office of Research and Innovation BEFORE travel commences or personal funds are expended.
Graduate Student Research Grant
This fund was created to encourage and support graduate students as they undertake research and creative projects that will contribute new insights into their chosen academic field. The maximum amount of the grant that students may receive in support of their research project, creative project, thesis, or dissertation research is $1,000 per year. Applications for support must reflect excellent academic scholarship and must carefully follow the proposal guidelines for funding consideration. The student must be enrolled at 亚色影库 during the term of the award. Two grant competitions are held annually, one in the fall and one in the spring. Graduate students may submit an application for a Graduate Student Research Grant via our InfoReady Review platform.
Graduate Student Funding to Present Papers
This fund supports graduate students currently enrolled in a doctoral or master's program who are presenting papers at professional meetings. Both in-person and virtual conference presentations are eligible for funding up to $500. Doctoral and master's students may apply via our InfoReady Review platform.
Students are required to submit all travel funding requests via InfoReady. Paper applications will not be accepted. Applications should be submitted to InfoReady four weeks prior to the presentation/activity.
Once the application has been approved, the student must read and follow the guidelines outlined in the Instructions for Reimbursement for Travel to ensure proper reimbursement. The guidelines describe how students must submit a completed Travel Expense Voucher and other materials to their departments. To see how to complete the voucher, see Travel Voucher Sample. Please note that the standard travel reimbursement processes should be used for reimbursement for conference presentation funding, even when travel is not included.
Graduate Student Professional Development
Graduate students can apply for up to $300 to support their participation in scholarly and creative activities that add to professional development in a significant way. Graduate students may submit an application for professional development funds via our InfoReady Review platform.
Students are required to submit all travel funding requests via InfoReady. Paper applications will not be accepted.
Graduate Student Publication Reimbursement
Costs associated with the publication of articles in scholarly journals, which pay no royalty or fee to the author, will be funded up to a limit of $500. These costs include article submission fees, reasonable photographic reproduction fees, and page charges. This policy does not extend to any writing for which the student receives compensation or to vanity press charges. Graduate students may submit an application for publication reimbursement via our InfoReady Review platform.
Graduate Student Outstanding Research Award
The School of Graduate Studies and Research recognizes graduate students who have completed what their academic departments believe to be outstanding research projects during the academic year. Three to five $100 awards are made, on a competitive basis, to graduate students each spring, following the review of a faculty nomination letter and a completed proposal.
