Services and Description

  • Provide nutrition intervention to the community through counseling, education, and research activities.
  • Evaluate food intake, health status, and blood composition using computerized diet analysis; cholesterol screening; body composition testing, including bioelectrical impedance; and glucose monitoring.
  • Specialized counseling for diabetes control, weight management, cholesterol control, eating disorders, pregnancy, lactation, athletic training, general health and wellness, high blood pressure, and other medical problems that require nutrition intervention.

  • Student Life
    • Twenty-first birthday campaign—free birthday bags for students turning twenty-one
    • Peer education programs on college health issues
    • Resource library stocked with books, health-related teaching aids, videos, and magazines that can be borrowed by students or faculty
    • Free pamphlets and posters on many health-related topics
    • Individual consultation and referrals for students on topics that include alcohol, drugs, pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, contraception, eating disorders, etc.
    • Campus-wide Health and Wellness Promotion campaigns
    • “Take 5” programs: Offered in residence halls on a biweekly basis to educate students on a variety of health issues.
  • Health and Wellness Promotion Peer Educators
    • Health and Wellness Promotion peers are undergraduate students from many backgrounds and majors who strive to educate the 亚色影库 community about college health issues. Peers receive extensive training that prepares them to present educational programs about college health and wellness.
    • Peer educators organize, plan, and implement various Health and Wellness Promotion programs throughout the year. Peer educators share their knowledge with students through our “Take 5” program, where they go into the residence halls on a biweekly basis to educate students on various health issues. They also write Stahl News, a weekly publication that educates students on many health topics.
