Chromebooks can access My亚色影库, 亚色影库 email, D2L, and perform many of the same tasks as Windows and Mac computers, but some software will not operate to its fullest potential.
We generally recommend students purchase a Windows or Mac computer (see our Hardware Guidelines for more information), though it is still possible to use a Chromebook as an 亚色影库 student.
If you are a Chromebook user, the following resources will help you make the most of your device at 亚色影库.
Connecting your Chromebook to the 亚色影库 wireless
The first step in using your Chromebook at 亚色影库 is to connect it to the 亚色影库 network. See the Chromebook Setup Instructions dropdown at the link above for instructions on connecting your Chromebook to 亚色影库's wireless network.
Office 365 Online
While Chromebooks cannot run the full version of Office 365, it is possible to access Word, Excel, and other programs through Office Online, though their functionality is still limited.
Office Online can be accessed at (sign in with your My亚色影库 credentials).
Mapping Network Drives
Some classes or roles may require the use of 亚色影库 network drives for submitting assignments or accessing files. See the Chromebook Drive Mapping Instructions dropdown at the link above for instructions on mapping network drives on Chromebooks. Note that you will need to be connected to the 亚色影库 network or using the 亚色影库 VPN to map and access drives.
Accessing the Virtual Computer Lab
The Virtual Computer Lab provides remote access to an 亚色影库 Windows computer. Accessible via browser or a downloadable client, the VCL allows full access to software suites such as Office 365, and network drives are automatically connected. You must be connected to the internet to access the VCL, though the 亚色影库 VPN is not required. For more information, see the link above.
If you are experiencing issues with your Chromebook, stop by the Student Computing Helpdesk in Delaney Hall.
