National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD)

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence fight the stigma and the disease of alcoholism and other drug addictions. NCADD provides objective information, statistics, facts, referral, and advocacy, as well as highlighting awareness and prevention programs and campaigns.

Domestic Violence

TheOffice of Violence Against Women,within the US Department of Justice,provides materials on domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking for criminal justice professionals, sexual assault and domestic violence victim advocates, and other multidisciplinary professionals and community partners who respond to these crimes.

Founded in 1992, Domestic Abuse Counseling Center (DACC) was created to provide information, skills, and support to men who were trying to change their abusive attitudes and behaviors. Recognizing the need for these services, DACC started with one group located in Pittsburgh and two volunteer staff members. During the last five years, DACC has experienced incredible growth and the organization. Its services and collaborations have expanded accordingly, becoming the largest nonprofit batterer treatment program in Pennsylvania. Our specialized services of dealing with changing abusive behaviors has allowed us to keep true to our mission of ending partner violence in Western Pennsylvania. This mission is accomplished through the development of programs for counseling abusers; collaborative efforts with social service agencies, criminal justice systems, victim-advocate agencies and health organizations; and by means of public awareness and education.

The Family Place is the largest family violence service provider in the Dallas area reaching out to thousands of victims of family violence each year with award-winning programs that keep women and children safe. For thirty years, the Family Place's mission to end the epidemic of family violence has remained constant. The Family Place believes that intervention, emergency shelter, and crisis counseling for all victimswomen, children and menwill save lives and that transitional housing and case management will transform lives for the better.

The mission of the Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse (MINCAVA) is to support research, education, and access to violence related resources.

The Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community (IDVAAC) is an organization focused on the unique circumstances of African Americans as they face issues related to domestic violenceincluding intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder maltreatment, and community violence.
