How do I determine the amount of Senate funding for which I am eligible to apply?
Faculty may receive up to $4,000 during a single year or $7,000 over a three-year period through a combination of Senate Fellowships, research and scholarship "small grants," and conference travel. The amount for which you are eligible to apply is determined by adding the present fiscal year and the prior two fiscal years' awards. Please note: 2020-21 awards will not apply toward these totals.
Can a small-grant proposal be submitted for travel to present papers/scholarly work before receiving conference acceptance?
Yes. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply well in advance of the conference date and may submit an application prior to receipt of conference acceptance.
Can I submit a proposal for a second travel to present papers/scholarly in one academic year if the travel award I received was less than $1,000?
Traditionally, no. However, for AY 2020-21, faculty may apply for multiple "travel" awards to support presentations at multiple virtual conferences this year. Faculty may receive up to $2,000 in "travel" funds.
Can I apply to present at more than one conference on one travel proposal submission?
No. Faculty should split different presentations into separate applications.
Can graduate students who are currently 亚色影库 temporary faculty apply for a USRC small grant?
Can a small-grant proposal be submitted for the May competition for research and scholarship projects and travel to present papers/scholarly work that will occur prior to July 1 of the new fiscal year?
No. For the May competition, small-grant proposals are only accepted for research and scholarship projects and travel to present papers/scholarly work beginning July 1 or later.
How do I submit my final report?

How do applicants who are proposing to co-present at a conference submit a small grant proposal?
Each applicant submits her/his proposal to co-present at a conference. Applicants proposing to co-present at a conference must explain each person's contribution to the work being presented, as well as justify why more than one presenter is needed at the conference. There must be some overwhelming reason why two presenters should be funded to present the same paper.
If an error is found on an already submitted proposal after the submission deadline, can a correction be sent to replace it?
No. Proposals and any corrections to an already submitted proposal will not be accepted after the 4:30 p.m. deadline.
Senate Fellowship Awards
When will the Senate Fellowship proposals be reviewed by the University Senate Research Committee?
The proposals will be reviewed at the April USRC monthly meeting.
When will the Senate Fellowship awards be announced?
Awards will be announced in late April.
