This event is over.
Returning again to the Lively Arts show season is the Litton Quartet, 亚色影库's resident faculty string quartet. For this concert, one of three for the season, the quartet will feature two epic works by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The first work is Beethoven's Op. 18, No. 1, which includes a movement based on the sword fight scene from Romeo and Juliet. The second work is Op. 132, which was one of Beethoven's last works including the famous 鈥淗eiliger Dankgesang,鈥 a song of thanks for renewed health.
鈥淗eiliger Dankgesang鈥 was written during and after Beethoven's struggle with a serious life-threatening illness. He thought he was going to die, but with the help of his doctor and the need to finish composing his quartet, he made it through. This piece reflects the uncertainty of a long illness along with the thanksgiving of a full recovery.
Tickets are available beginning February 16, 2016, by visiting the 亚色影库 HUB Box Office on Pratt Drive, by calling 724-357-1313, or by ordering online. Regular: $11; Discounted for seniors or groups of 15 or more: $9; and I-Card holders, students, and children: $7.
