Services and Description

  • Assists students in recognizing tasks inherent in their development as individuals and their growth as 亚色影库 students. Faculty and staff work collaboratively with students to foster the self-knowledge and skills necessary to succeed personally, academically, and professionally. The center allows students the opportunity to integrate their personal goals with their academic goals.
  • Individual Counseling: In some cases, a student might benefit most from talking to a counselor once a week in individual sessions. Sessions are usually forty to fifty minutes long and are a time for a counselor and a student to work together on the student's problem or concern. Since the Counseling Center tries to serve as many students as possible, we have a forty-session limit for individual counseling. Students may want to discuss this session limit and their counseling needs with their counselor.
  • Group Counseling: Students often benefit most from sharing information, experiences, and support with students with similar concerns. Every semester, the center offers Interpersonal Understanding Groups for students who wish to increase self-awareness and enhance personal relationships.
    • Current Groups
      • Women's Support Groups (2)
      • Graduate Student Support Group
      • Hope and Healing (Sexual Assault)
      • Breaking Through Self-Defeating Behaviors (Substance Use)
    • Groups are facilitated or supervised by Counseling Center faculty psychologists. They are generally small (five to ten members) and meet weekly. Students participating in groups need to commit to regular attendance.
  • Consultation: Counseling Center faculty members are available to consult with all members of the 亚色影库 community. We can assist with group and interpersonal communication, students in crisis, student concerns, program planning, and a number of other concerns and issues. In addition, our faculty members assist people who are friends of students with emotional concerns.
